Happy Sunday Everyone. So not to brag but I had the most perfect Sunday morning today. I woke up, finished the incredible The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, feasted on some epic chorizo, red pepper and egg tacos (made by G), and drank two cups of extra milky chaI even managed to do some basic adulating tasks, like take a shower and start to hang up our new vacuum cleaner. This is a major win in my book, given I spent most of my Saturday napping after my red eye flight from Vegas. Lately, I’ve needed a day to recover after every work trip. Somehow my whole “try to be healthy and eat, sleep and move well” routine goes right out the door as soon as I step on the plane. I’m still trying to figure some good life hacks, so please share any tips you might have. In the mean time, here are some fun links that I found on the internets. I thought you might enjoy them as much as I did.

Rediscovering Baya Mahieddine // I was truly sad to have missed this exhibition at NYU’s Grey Art Gallery. This 16 year old Alergian Artist was an incredibly talented painter, whose colorful depictions of moving women, influenced the likes of Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso.

Yoga Pants // “For when you just want to be a couch panini” This is one of the funniest SNL sketches that I’ve seen in a long time. It starts off as a traditional Nike commercial, and slowly evolves into a very realistic and close to home representation of how I wear my leggings.

The Hate U Give // This is an absolute must-read. I’m suppose to be finishing up Station Eleven for my book club meeting on Wednesday. Yet, I started and immediately had to finish this incredible book. Don’t be put off by its YA label. The book starts with   16 year old Starr Carter as she witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil by a police officer. Starr has to navigate the fallout after the shootout, in her poor neighborhood and her fancy suburban prep school. I truly adored this book….and will be writing a proper book review shortly.

George & Martha // We all have our favorite childhood books. For me, it will always be The Hungry Caterpillar and Babar. I was delighted to be reminded of another childhood classic in this New York Times piece on James Marshall’s George and Martha series. It’s truly a wonderful read.
